Finally!! The last week of this class!! THANK GOD!! Now the REAL work begins, but thats OK.
I got a reality check and a refresher course all at the same time. However, I know I can maintain and do well. I just heard that my friend Laura will be joining me back at school. She's going for her MBA. Laura is the one who opened my eyes to online classes at the University. I joked with her the other day and said," Hey! Let's meet for a cappuccino over at Starbucks before we hit Kinko's to make copies!!!" HAHAHAHAHA It's funny when you hear that she is in St. Louis, while I'm RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN (AnnArbor)
GO BLUE!!! GO WOLVERINES!! YEAH, BABY!! ( Yeah, I had to do that because of a certain BeeGee who thinks TEXAS Longhorns are all that when all they are, are hayseed plowboys themselves!!) :P

ANYWAYS....as I was saying...This will be cool. We're hoping to graduate at the same time so we can both attend Univ. of Phoenix graduation IN PHOENIX, AZ! We thought that would be awesome.

UPDATE!! 9-24-05

My friend, Cathy and her mom made it to Conroe, TX. late yesterday. Her brother, Ken, lives there now....Dallas was out of reach. It took them 8 hours to get from Katy to Conroe. Normally just over an hours drive away and that was on primarily back roads. I-45 was completely grid locked.
I'm just happy to know they're out of Houston and up on higher inland ground.
My thoughts are with all of the Hurricane evacuees in both La and Tx.

FRIDAY Sept 23rd.."0 dark thirty"

I can't sleep. I have lots of things going through my mind. I have to finish my rough draft for class and do some reading. Also take the Math assessment...of which I know I will suck at..like Chevy Chase use to say on Saturday Night Live those many years ago.." I thought there would be no math today!" Thats me! Math is not my strong point. Give me science? Sociology? Anything..just NO MATH!! LOL!!!!
Anyways, I am now getting child support...oh shall I say I'll be receiving it soon. My ex came to his senses for a little while and is trying to "do good" for his kids. Hey, I'm not going to complain!! If he wants to do it, fine..if not, he'll go to jail..no skin off my back! I'm raising my son the best way I know how and so far I think I have done a fairly damn good job. Do I care what anyone else thinks?? Never have before and don't see it happening anytime soon, either. It's my life, my rules...my son and he's growing up to be a real fine young man.
One issue I do have with said son...he came to me and told me he wants to learn a musical instrument. Well hmmm..I thought to myself what God awful thing does he want to play?? I'm figuring drums since his cousins all play them. WRONG!!! You guys ready???

Thursday Sept 15

Hey K...you know whats happening in about...say....6 week right???
Thats right, Halloween!!! You have your costume yet???

B's eye has got a lump the size of a pinto bean below his eye..I'm thinking hematoma??
The bruising is going down his cheek a bit. But all in all, he doesn't have the headaches like he had. The Motrin is finally working.

My father suffered another TIA yesterday and scared the living crap out of me. He couldn't talk for a couple of hours, nor move his right side. His TIA's are getting longer in duration and I told him that the next time this happenes he better call 911 or he could suffer a major stroke and not come out of it. His mother was in a nursing home for 10 years...so I asked him, does he want that also??? If he just sits there and doesn't call 911, thats what will happen. If help arrives within the first few minutes and gets him to the hospital, he can give him a medicine called TPA and it will help him emmensely. I think I even scared him enough for him to call 911 nexttime and not sit around waiting for the symptoms to "go away"..because one of these times, they won't.
Plans for the weekend??? Well let me see...lots of school work!! My team has two papers due and I have one individual one due,too.
I have to take B out for some much needed school shopping...he needs pants badly. He has a project due Monday, too, so we'll both be close to home.........PLUS, FOOTBALL!! U of M vs. Eastern MI!! AND Lions vs. Daaaa Bears. I'm suppose to go to the U of M game, but it depends on the health of my dad. I don't want to miss going to The Big House, but sometimes family is more important than a game. OH!! Also Grocery shopping...Domestic duties are always called for. Yet another fun weekend in the world of a Lonely Licky Chicky.
***Sigh*** What is a girl to do??? ( Did someone say "vacation"??)

Anyways..here's the kid and his black eye..it looks horrible in real life. The webcam doesn't even begin to show the swelling and color scheme. He keeps having headaches, so I'm still watching him closely. Motrin seems to be working..ahh the miracle drug, LOL!!!

As for Sunday POST football spanking.... B got tagged by a golfball in the right eye this evening. That called for a trip to the ER for x rays. He's got quite a shiner..wonderful colors of magenta and lavender...still looks like the ball took up residence just below his eye also. Swollen is not the word. The xrays on 1st look say no obvious fractures. THANK GOD!!! I have to call tomorrow for the radiologists' report. It was quite the weekend.
No comment on school..I'm not even going there today...I'm starting fresh tomorrow and hoping for the best. It wasn't anything Major, but a posting issue that really pissed me right the hell off. You know me...don't piss me off....and BAM!! Class did this a.m. and I went through the roof. I think it's safe to say that I'm glad I'm taking heart medication...LOL...

My car made it through surgery alright. It cost me an arm and a leg, not to mention my firstborn, but the babycar is worth it...LOL

Lastnight Holly and I took the boys and went to see Randy Travis at DTE ( Pine Knob). WOW!
It was very good. I thought he would be a bit dull, but oh my god! What a performer and story teller!! It was a very nice night out. Holly and I agree though..next time?? NO KIDS!!

My little B is now in Safety Patrol! He is in charge of raising the flag and lowering the flag as of now. I figure he knows exactly how the flag should be handled so I think he's a perfect choice for this!

Sept 7 2005

Busy!! Thats the word!!
School is keeping me on my toes, but I love it! I HATE reading textbooks ,too, but Hey! I have to do it to get anywhere!!
My babycar is in the car hospital having surgery. Everything went wrong with it last weekend, so lets just say IF it makes it though, I will have a new babycar to go zoom, zoom, zoom in!! I'm looking forward to it a lot!! Nothing like a single girl in a sportscar!!! AND NO BABYSEAT!!! LOL!!

B went up north and came home telling me he HATED it..His cousins and his 1/2 brother were rude, mean, and tried to start fights constantly. I told B the next time Michael Robert gets rude, to knock him one...( thats his 1/2 brother). I'm soo glad we never see those people..they could care less about raising their kids and those kids are total animals..always have been. B was glad that his older cousins were there..Tina's kids. So B hung out with new friends he made or Chris and Michael Adam ( Tina's middle son). Pretty bad huh?
B started school yesterday and got picked to be on Safety Patrol before and after school. I figure with his Young Marine training, that got him "in". We'll see how long this lasts. He seems pretty much in a good mood over his teacher and classmates, so I hope this year isn't riddled with fights and office meetings.
I am looking forward to starting an "on call" job with one of the girls from an office I go to on Wednesdays. She has a company that does crime scene clean ups. HEy! If it's good money, I can handle it. I've been around death and medicine my whole life. Plus it may open doors in my Criminal justice career....never pass on a good thing, I always say!!
Thats about it for now...I don't know what has transpired between my nephew and his drug issues. I'm sure I'll get the chance to talk to him soon!

Saturday Sept 3

Hello everyone!!
It's definitely been an eventful week for good AND bad things.
Let's talk about the "good". I started my online classes Tuesday and it's awesome! I love the fact that I can "go to class" and take my time reading without having to actually sit in a class and listen to lectures that drone on and on. I also enjoy the fact that these classes are excellerated and I dont have to sit there for 15 weeks. I always grew tired of fall and spring courses at my local University...seems like they took forever!!! So..this is perfect for little old me!!
B is still up north at his dad's side family reunion. Unfortunately, his dad is not going, but his Uncle Eric took him instead so everyone could see how little Brandon is growing up. Many of these family members have not seen him in probably 6-8 years, by my calculation. B will be back Labor Day and his school starts the following Tuesday. We still need to go school shopping, but we're waiting until my next payday, plus it's still very warm here, so him wearing new fall school clothes is not happening until it gets cooler out. It's still in the 80's here..so he'll be in shorts anyways.
For my close friends.....my phone is also shut off until mid month. I had to decide which was more important, gas ( since we're being bled to death by the prices) and food for the next two weeks or my phone?? Well, I hardly get many calls, so it was obvious of my choice. PLUS, if it's really important that I talk with someone...most of the people I DO talk with are on Yahoo, AIM, or MSN anyhow..so BUZZ ME!! You know my computer is ON 24/7!!! LOL...just if it says "Shhhhhh..In class", please refrain from IMing me unless it's an emergency that you HAVE to talk to me.
OK the bad news. We found out last weekend that my 22 yr old nephew is into cocaine. It was a shock to hear this simply because he is the kid who seems to have it all going on. He obviously has no clue what he's into. I have seen first hand what it can do to a persons body and mind. I have a close family member who was addicted and who is basically dieing from his addiction, even though he's clean now. I was asked to talk to my nephew to give him the low down on what can happen, but with the gas prices, I cannot get down to where he's at. But trust in me, when I see him?? The kid is going down. BTW, I know he's going to deny it....but he better straighten up, because I've heard first hand that when his dad gets ahold of him, he's leaving this world right off the end of his dad's foot....and rightfully so.
I'll keep you in the loop about this drama as it comes available.
SO thats about it for now..OH!!!!! I went to see Brooks and Dunn last night at PINE KNOB.
that was an EXCELLENT SHOW!!! It was a close call between Rascal Flatts and them..both concerts were well worth the money to see ( and I didn't spand an arm and a leg on this series of tickets either) and last night was perfect weather..no humidity, beautiful breeze and the beer was flowing!!!
Today is the Univ.of Michigan game!!! Go blue!! Tomorrow football party at my friends place...
Monday homework due in school....HEY! IT's a holiday! Thats NO FAIR!!! LOL!!!
